Born on the Southside of Chicago in 1977 in Blue Island, Illinois, his artistic fluency was evident at an early age. He spent countless hours drawing monsters, knights, dinosaurs, and anything that came to mind. At the young and impressionable age of seven, he gained inspiration from his surroundings that included a poster from one of heavy metal’s most iconic bands.
“Iron Maiden’s ‘Killers’ made such a heavy impression on me. Seeing that wicked Derek Riggs illustration left me totally blown away, I had to know how to draw like that.”
Three years later his thirst for spectacular imagery was cemented when he was exposed to Frank Frazetta’s “Conan” and “Death Dealer” paintings.
“Frazetta, for me, is the most influential artist in the modern era”
Attaining his B.F.A. in illustration from the American Academy of Art, located in Chicago, Illinois, he earned multiple accolades, including recognitions for Academic Excellence, and the unprecedented honor of guest lecturing multiple undergraduate seminars. He has produced numerous works for private fantasy art enthusiasts across the United States and Europe. His work can also be seen in selective art galleries and conventions throughout North America.
